Reminder NO SCHOOL THURSDAY!

Drama Club - It is time for Drama Club! Join us to learn how about all parts of theater. Not an actor or singer? Help behind the scenes with set building or make up and costumes. We focus not just on theater but film and improv comedy. This year we are starting with...ZOMBIES! Find out more at our first meeting Wednesday October 2nd. Members from last year and those interested will both need signed permission papers. Bring your signed paper to our first meeting Wednesday October 2nd. You MUST have a signed paper to stay after. Pick up permission forms from Mrs. Jones in M2 or Ms. Hubbard in M9.

Multicultural Night - The Multicultural Community Night that is being hosted by Hermitage, Brookland and Moody Middle School will be held this Wednesday 10/2 from 5:30-7:30 at Hermitage High School. Come share and learn about other heritages through food, music, dance, arts, and crafts. Hope to see you there!

Specialty Centers - Attention All 8th Graders: Do you have a particular area of interest or special talent? Are you interested in challenging yourself academically? Are you interested in attending one of the specialty centers in Henrico County? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should apply to one or more of the many Specialty Centers that Henrico County offers. The application window opens October 1st. Mrs. Ballard and Ms. Smith will be hosting work sessions in the library each week. Please go to Schoology for the schedule and to sign up or see your Advisory teacher for more information. Art Club - The first Art Club meeting will be on 10/7 from 3:30 in rm W4 to 4:30

Fishing Field Trip - Tuesday and Wednesday of this week is the 6th grade fishing trip. If you are attending the trip, dress appropriately for the weather. Don’t forget to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a water bottle.

Forensics Club - Dear Forensics Club, we will be moving our weekly meetings to Wednesdays; so our next meeting will be held on October 2, 2024, and all Wednesdays moving forward. Please make you parents aware of this change. Thank you, Dr. Roane

Specialty Centers - Attention All 8th Graders: Today is the Day!!! If you are interested in applying to a specialty center, please have your parents log into their parent portal account TODAY from a laptop. All parents must complete the parent permission and student waiver form giving you permission to complete an application. You will not be able to start an appliation without your parent first granting permission. So don't forget... ask you parents to sign into their parent portal today! Please see Mrs. Ballard or Ms. Smith with any questions.

We will be sending home all the information with your student next week.  Our goal is to raise $10,000.00 to further instructional efforts for our students. September 3rd - 6th

FORENSICS: Did you know that Brookland Middle School has a Forensics Club? This is a wonderful extracurricular activity open to students in grades 6th, 7th or 8th. This is an opportunity to develop your speaking abilities and to have fun! There will be an interest meeting scheduled, for Thursday September 12 directly after-school in Room T-9. Stop by and learn more about this club! Please see Dr. Roane more additional information, and to receive an interest form.

August 26th - 30th

FOOTBALL - Football tryouts begin on Monday the 26th, after school. You must have a completed Physical in order to stay back. Remember to bring athletic clothing to change into and a PLAIN WHITE t-shirt. Any questions please see Mr. Butler.

CHEER - Cheer Tryouts start afterschool Monday, August 26 through Weds, Aug 28. Please make sure you have completed a cheer packet with physical completed. Attire: white top, athletic shorts/leggings, and socks and sneakers

TRYOUTS - Are you interested in trying out for Boys Soccer, Cheer, Football, Girls Basketball or Girls Tennis? If so, tryouts start on Monday August 26th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. In order to participate in tryouts, you must submit a completed physical form signed by a doctor dated after May 1, 2024 and complete the required BMS Sport Packet. ART CLUB - Art Club applications are now open! Art Club will meet after school once a month beginning in October. You do NOT need to be in an art class to join! Please see Mrs. Smithers, Ms. Martin, or Mrs. Severino for an application.

ESPORTS - Do you like video games? Are you interested in playing competitively? Well then this might be the team for you! THE BMS eSports Team is gearing up for the fall season and we are looking for dedicated Marko Kart and Super Smash Brother players as well as Creative Minecraft builders. If this is something you are interested in please fill out the interest form found in your Schoology Grade Level Group!
